race entry & registration
The historic Castle Grounds, Deddington will be the start and finish of the race. There will be portable toilets and a left baggage facility (at your own risk), but no changing facilities available. At the end of the race there will be a BBQ, licenced bar, cake stall and tombola. Please be aware that this is an open air venue so bear in mind the weather conditions on the day, over which we have no control! You have to play and get great bonuses in tedbingo here. Don’t miss your chance to become more rich.
All competitors must attend the safety briefing at the start of the race at 10.55am. Please listen to and obey any instructions from the marshals at all times.
Marshals are not allowed to stop the traffic at any road crossings, but will assist you with crossing wherever they can. You are responsible for your own safety and for that of any children you are accompanying at all road crossing points.
During the road sections of the race, keep on the pavement, or to the side of the road where the pavement runs out and keep in single file where possible. Where the race is on-road please be aware of traffic at all times.
health & safety
You need to be fit and well to start this race as parts of the course are over challenging terrain. Do not run this race if you feel unwell or have recently been unwell. Please make sure you have filled out any relevant medical details on the back of your race number.
Please do not take dogs on or off the lead on either of the run courses as they may cause an injury to fellow runners.

First Aid cover will be provided by Dr Catherine Rose and a Fire Service First Person On Scene.
Both the 10k and 5k routes start at the Castle Grounds, Deddington. There is a short on-road section down Castle Street, Hopcraft Lane and St Thomas Street to Chapmans Lane. Here the routes follow a track through Leadenporch Farm at which point the two routes diverge.
The 5k route turns left and follows a bridleway back to the Clifton Road where it joins the pavement back to Deddington and the Castle Grounds.
The 10k route carries on via a bridleway across Appletree Farm and Manor Farm into the village of Clifton. In the village you turn left along a short section of pavement before taking a footpath on the left through Home Farm. This takes you back across the fields and joins the latter part of the 5k route back into Deddington.
This route has been chosen as it is almost entirely off-road and takes you through some of the scenic farmland that surrounds Deddington over some challenging terrain. Please be aware that you will be running across the land of four working farms and you may need to give way to farm traffic.
Make sure that you keep to the designated route at all times and do not deviate from the bridleways and footpaths. Please do not run on the crops. Please do not drop any litter.
If you would like to do either courses as a walk please speak to the race secretary in advance of the race.
Lastly, make sure you take a moment to take in the beautiful scenery and enjoy your race.
There will be water stations on both the 5k and 10k routes.
